    Our Business

     In operation since 1977, Better Property Management Real Estate Sales, currently specializes in Real Estate Sales, Leasing, Brokerage, and Manages several hundred residential income units. The properties we manage vary from single-family homes and condominiums to large apartment complexes, and buildings with mixed-use commercial. Included in our management accounts are 30 Condominium Homeowner Associations. We manage many private conservatorships and were under contract with the Public Administrator and Public Guardian of San Francisco for whom we managed and sold their probate properties.

    Our clients reside in locations ranging from San Francisco to the Far East. Many clients are long term, including some who have been with our firm for as long as we have been in business.

    Our professional management and sales services cater to owners in the Bay Area, giving us the background, skills and management systems to provide our clients a high quality, integrated property management service. We are able to utilize our existing system to provide such services in a cost effective manner, which will benefit the client economically. Our property management and maintenance program allows us to keep up-to-date and well-informed about our clients properties. Statements are generated on a monthly basis. Our fees are based on a percentage of the gross collected rents and other services that we may provide.

    We regularly evaluate new properties; provide repairs and improvements in consultation with owners and in accord with pre-established approval limits on spending. We work with a range of specialists who provide professional services ranging from plumbing and electricity to roofing and heating. We arrange insurance for many of our clients. We work with a variety of companies and have broad experience with claims. Better Property Management Real Estate Sales maintains a 24-hour answering service with 24-hour response capability. We develop lease forms, screen, select and approve tenants; and collect and deposit rent payments.

     Steven A. Brown, Broker

    Steven Brown has been Managing and Selling property in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976. His company, Better Property Management Real Estate Sales, manages over 100 Residential Income properties and 30 Condominium Associations.
    Steven graduated from Baruch College, the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. When he first came to California Steven obtained his Real Estate license and began selling and managing property. He then obtained his Brokers license in 1981 and formed Better Property Management, which now specializes in Residential Property Management, Condominium Association Management and includes an active Sales Department.

    q       Developed Sales and Management program for San Francisco Public Guardian and Public Administrator.

    q       Specializes in Probate and Trust Sales, working closely with Conservators, Executors and Estate Attorneys.

    q       Established a precedent at San Francisco Rent Stabilization and Arbitration board to eliminate a source of tenant claims.

    Felice L. Kaplan


    After completing graduate work at San Francisco State University, Felice left college to begin a career as a High School instructor.  During the years after teaching she acquired extensive business experience when she worked in advertising, the newspaper industry, and for a large engineering firm.

    Felice has been in the employ of Better Property Management since 1981, as a Property Manager, Leasing Supervisor, and Real Estate Sales Agent.  Recently she has been a "hands-on" stager/decorator for some of bpmlre real estate sales listings.  

    For more than 30 years Felice has been a resident/owner in Noe Valley. She is also an active investor in the Bay Area, Sacramento County, and Arizona. She initiated the development of the "pilot program" for Condominium Association Management within bpmlre and is a candidate for the CCAM designation (Certified Community Association Manager).



    Thomas N. Redmond

    As a licensed Real Estate Agent in the Bay Area for over 15 years, Thomas has
    satisfied many clients by successfully brokering their transactions. After graduating from Regis University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing, he went into sales, first in the oil business. Subsequently, he worked in commercial real estate, becoming a Vice-President of a downtown firm with regional retail expertise.

    Thomas joined Better Property Management in 1997 and has developed hands-on sales and closing expertise in residential income property, condominiums, and single-family homes. Thomas offers:

    Mel Camhi

     

    Joined Better Property Management in 1995. A licensed Real Estate Agent since 1977, Mel has been actively involved in various aspects of Real Estate, including Sales and Management. Since 2001, Mel has held the position of Manager of HOA Services. He is responsible for all facets of HOA management and maintenance.

    Mel holds a BA in English from Colgate University and did Graduate work in Public Relations at Boston University. He is an avid fiction writer and enjoys taking adult education classes in various subjects.

     

     

    Rebecca Brown

    A licensed Real Estate Agent, Rebecca has been with Better Property Management since 2004. Previously a Property Manager and Leasing Agent for a large Real Estate Investment Trust, and subsequently working as a wholesale mortgage lender,  she has been working in the Real Estate business since 2002. Since joining BPM Rebecca has focused on Condominium and TIC sales. Rebecca also manages special projects for the company. She attended the University of California Santa Barbara and holds a degree in Music Performance. Rebecca is very involved in the local Opera and performance community.

    Alana joined Better Property Management in 1999 shortly after graduating from San Jose Christian College with a BA in Theology.  She has been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 2005 and currently serves the BPM team as an Office Manager and Rental Assistant. Alana is a San Francisco native and loves the City. She enjoys working with others and has assisted hundreds of people in the relocation process.
